Seriously, let me ask you, would it be valuable to sit and talk specifically about how to "Master your Marketplace" for 90 minutes?  Would it be helpful if I offered you “Fresh Eyes” to bounce ideas off of?  Would it help you to learn what others are doing who face similar challenges as yours?  Would it be beneficial to talk about logical next steps so that your business can excel?  Because for 90 minutes that’s exactly what we would do.  Now imagine getting all this expertise for the price of a simple lunch!
 
The reason I share this with you is to talk about what I believe to be the ingenuity behind my “Buy Curt Lunch” program (see copy of invitation on back of business card below).  However, before I do I have to confess that I got this idea from Bob Cassels of www.mrbob.ca.  I thought his idea was brilliant so I did what every good professional does; I copied it (with his permission of course).
 
Buy Curt Skene LunchWhat I like about this program is it places value on my time and it gets agreement from my potential customer that my time is worth investing in.  It also provides a subtle shift from me wanting to speak to them wanting to listen.  Have you noticed how many people are out there today asking for appointments to sell their stuff, so many in fact that no one has the time or desire to see them all.  But your potential customers do have time to be helped with answers to their problems and many are prepared to pay something (even lunch) for that help.  That is exactly what the "Buy Curt Lunch" program offers.  It’s a foot in the door that adds value and creates attention.  Could you use more doors being opened in your business?
 
So why would people want to buy you lunch?  What value could you provide them that would make a difference in their business?  I like to take along a copy of my 150 page Master the MarketPlace workbook and after we have spent some time talking about their challenges I refer them to some of the exercises included inside.  At the end of the lunch they are often filled with helpful ideas and we are talking about next steps that often include hiring me.
